We are looking for a Host or Hostess to join our team and be the first point of contact for our guests and present a positive first impression of the establishment's friendliness, excellent service and high standards.
Job Description
- Follow our Cycle of Service at all times and be fully familiar with every beverage and dish served in the Bar and Restaurant and provide explanations as requested
- Greet guests, identify their specific reservation, collect guest’s details for database purposes, and ensuring that the necessary details are obtained, i.e. name in full, address, whether company or private booking, special rate, allowances, VIP, charge details, etc.
- Allocate guests according to reservations list, ensuring that it is what the guest has booked or requested is provided in line with the Cycle of Service
- Seats guests, manage the seating chart and implement a guest list upon reaching full capacity
- Liaise or alert management of any special allergy or dietary requirements
- Be familiar with all aspects of Group Reservations including but not limited to Set Menus, Allergy Requirements, Birthday parties, special functions, etc.
- Operate the phone system and the voicemail system as per guidelines
- B fully trained and have an in depth understanding of our Reservation System
- Ensure cleanliness of all menus daily and correct set up of reception area
- Ensure that the par levels set for menus and other printed tools are always checked and that the Venue do not run out of printed materials
- Update reservation list daily and liaise with management and kitchen
- Ensure that all departments, particularly the floor, are notified of V.I.P or particular requests
- Complete and prepare seating allocation and briefing sheet daily
- Update daily the Lost & Found tracking sheet
- Be totally familiar with the composition of all menu items and their allergy risks
- Be aware of and practice good customer relations, assisting the guest in any way which does not adversely affect other customers
- Be continually aware of, and maintain, the highest standards of personal hygiene
- Attend meetings and training courses as required
- Take part in any fire or evacuation drills and ensure complete familiarization with all exits, including those normally used by customers, as well as fire escapes
- Report any suspect package left unattended to the manager on duty
- Carry out any other reasonable request asked by the management
Candidate Profile
- Highschool diploma or ANY relevant certifications; Hospitality certification is a plus
- Previous work experience as a Host/Hostess
- Experience in managing reservations and ability to demonstrate excellent customer-service skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional with difficult customers
- Strong interpersonal, organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment
- Flexible with work shifts and have the endurance to walk and stand for long hours
- Excellent communication skills (via phone and in-person)
